If you are engaging yourself in a personal growth program, but are feeling guilty that you don’t take time to “work” on it every day, relax.
You are, in fact, working on it every day, growing as a person, and reaching your potential, albeit intuitively.
How?
- Every time you make an effort to help someone with a problem they have
- Whenever you give a person a compliment
- When you’re driving and let someone pull in ahead of you on a busy road
- When you say “thank-you” to a foodservice worker
- When you hold a door open for someone
- When you treat a salesperson as courteously as you treat your boss
- When you are patient with a cashier new to their job
The list goes on…
Your deeds speak. You are growing.

To be successful, any program of personal growth that involves difficulties needs the three elements of hope, courage, and action.
Hope or optimism to believe that our efforts have a reasonable likelihood of turning out positively
Courage to realize and appreciate the obstacles and hurdles we may have to overcome in our efforts
Action on those personal growth challenges; for without action, hope and courage by themselves will be ineffective
